In general, my favourite genre for films is horror and I'm addicted to watching TV series' so I thought I would give this show a go. My housemate had watched it prior to me and told me it was really good but that she was pretty creeped out by it so I was kind of anxious but excited to watch it.
After the first few episodes I became obsessed with it. I really liked it because it had a complex plot with quite a few moral messages behind it and also because even though it was horror, it's very realistic. As I said the plot is quite complex and I had to pay pretty much 100% attention to the programme to completely understand it. Also, I do have to admit I didn't watch it on my own and now I'm about to start the second season I am going to have to watch it on my own and I'm pretty scared but it's just sooooo good, it's worth it.
The first season is set in a house branded 'The Murder House' which contains the ghosts of the people that have died in the house and these people can't leave the premises that they were killed on. Some of the time, you don't know who's a ghost and who's not so it's quite exciting and intense at the same time. There's a few pretty good looking characters as well so that's always a bonus. For example, there's the character of Tate played by Evan Peters and the character of Ben played by Dylan Mcdermott (he's also in Hostages).
Evan Peters (Tate)
Dylan McDermott (Ben)
All in all, I would recommend this series to anybody who's looking for something a bit different and also challenging. If I could give you any tips to watching it then it would definitely be DO NOT WATCH IT NIGHT TIME.
PS. Incase anybody is wondering I watched it on Netflix (US) but I'm sure if you don't have that you can find a link quite easily online. If you do decide to watch, let me know what you think. GOOD LUCK!
